Celebrate Chinese New Year at February Library Lunchtime Lecture

Happy New Year and welcome back to the Houston Cole Library Lunchtime Lecture Series! The 2010 series kicks off on Wednesday, February 10 at noon on the 10th floor of the Library with a free program celebrating the origins and traditions of Chinese New Year, including Chinese New Years treats, culture, food and fun. Please plan to bring your lunch and join us for this special cultural program.
Speaker for this event will be Mrs. Hanrong Wang, associate professor at Jacksonville State University. Mrs. Wang provides reference and instructional assistance at Houston Cole Library as well as maintains and develops the law, technology, agricultural, military science, naval science, and the family and consumer sciences collections.
Ms. Wang graduated from Huazhong (Central China) Normal University with a B.A. in English Literature. She holds a master's in Library and information Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. She also holds a master's in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. Mrs. Wang is also the president of CALA (Chinese American Librarians Association) Southeast Chapter and the American Society for Chinese Scholars. She is an associate editor for the Journal of American Society for Chinese Scholars.
